The first Russian unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) with a hybrid propulsion unit - ZALA 421-16E5G, developed by the Russian company ZALA Aero (belonging to the consortium "KALASHNIKOV"), flew more than 1000 km, from IZHEVSK to YOSHKAR-OLA and back. This report was published by the press department of ZALA Aero. "During the flight on the route IZHEVSK - YOSHKAR-OLA - IZHEVSK, which lasted more than 12 hours, the hybrid unmanned system ZALA 421-16E5G flew a distance of 1130 km. During the flight, the methodology of using the unmanned system was tested by two flight stations, with a new communication and control system, implemented at remote control centers located in different regions of RUSSIA.
The implementation of such a system, where the operators of the complex are located at a distance of up to 500 km from the starting point, reduces the exhaustion of the technical resource of the equipment, minimizes the human factor and harmonizes the compliance of operating unit personnel, "the press service said.
As stated in ZALA Aero, the company's latest technologies in the field of navigation and intelligent information processing were tested during the flight. "In particular, a new on-board visual navigation system was used. This system is independent of satellite navigation and is implemented in a closed control loop, which allows the unmanned vehicle to fly in complete radio silence and also provides multiple protection against electronic warfare means, "the press department said.
The on-board intelligent AIVI processing system was also used during the flight. "The AIVI system in passive mode provides automatic detection and recognition of objects from several sources, with visibility throughout the lower hemisphere, which allows you to obtain up-to-date information on the number and location of objects, changes in the situation during the flight," added ZALA Aero.
